The present notice concerns the processing of data carried out through the Digicommons.org website (a collaboration between the Department of Social Anthropology of Panteion University and the National Centre for Scientific Research “NCSR Demokritos”), accessible at https://digicommons.org (hereinafter the “Website”). It is addressed to its visitors, who are considered “data subjects,” as described below.

For your better understanding, we use the following terms, which have the respective meanings indicated below:

Data You Provide (Get in Touch)
If you wish to contact us, the personal details you enter in the “Contact” section (name, email, and message content) are additionally collected, as they are required for communication. The collection and processing of these data is based on your consent, as further described in the relevant information notice posted on the corresponding section of the Website.
If you wish to submit a participation proposal for the conference “Digital Commons: Infrastructures, Design, and the Ethics of Autonomy”, you will be redirected to a Google environment (Google Form) where you will be asked to provide the following:
– Full name
– Email
– Information about your work
– Abstract of your proposed contribution
– Short bio
– Job Title / Role
– Collaboration with the Institution
– Country
– Panel proposal and justification
– Contact details for the proposed panel participants
The purpose of collecting these data is to evaluate your submitted proposal, which may concern either an individual paper/contribution or a thematic panel, and subsequently to communicate with you for the efficient organisation of the conference.
The data of the persons you propose as panel participants are requested so we may contact them and obtain their consent after first informing them appropriately.
The collection and processing of the above data for these purposes is based on your consent, as described in the relevant information notice posted on the corresponding section of the Website.
Consent may be freely withdrawn at any time by submitting a relevant request to [postal address, email, telephone], without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
Your data collected solely for our communication with you and our response to your queries will be retained by NCSR Demokritos for two (2) years.
Data collected for evaluating your proposal for participation in the event will be retained for five (5) years, for documentation purposes concerning the evaluation and the event, and will also remain available to the event co-organizers, unless you withdraw your consent earlier.
Recipients of Personal Data
Processing of the data collected during your visit to the Digicommons.org Website is limited to the Website administrator (NCSR Demokritos).
The data you enter for communication purposes and/or for submitting a proposal to the organising committee are accessible to the committee for the above purposes.
However, for the organisation of the event, personal data necessary for registering and informing you are transferred to Google, which act as processors on behalf of NCSR Demokritos and ensure that the data remain adequately protected and are not used for purposes other than the intended one.
The personal data you provide also remain available to the event co-organizers.
Links to Third-Party Websites & Social Media
The Website may include links to other websites and social media platforms, which are operated by other Controllers and which may process your data. We bear no responsibility for such processing.

Revisions
